If you’re designing a product that needs to mount to a wall, a panel, a vehicle, or any fixed surface — and release cleanly without tools — Piranha Lox® is a ready-made solution you can build around rather than engineer from scratch.
How the System Works for Product Designers
Piranha Lox® is a two-part locking mechanism. The surface mount attaches to any fixed surface. The insert block integrates into your product — molded into plastic housings, fastened to metal enclosures, or incorporated into any item that needs to mount and dismount repeatedly. When the two halves come together, a stainless steel lever locks them in position. One finger releases it. No tools, no twisting, no brackets.
The insert block is the piece that travels with your product. The surface mount stays on the wall. Your customer installs the surface mount once and swaps your product in and out from that point forward — cleanly, quickly, and securely.
What You Can Build Around It
The insert block can be integrated into virtually any product that benefits from tool-free wall or surface mounting — plastic housings, metal enclosures, or custom-fabricated units. Current applications include kennel feeding systems, veterinary equipment, supply caddies, grooming station accessories, and vehicle-mounted systems. The same mechanism adapts readily to clocks, environmental monitoring devices, signage, display panels, industrial tool staging, art and décor pieces, and any product where clean mounting and easy removal are selling points.
The metal version — 6061-T6 aluminum with a 304 stainless steel lever and anodized finish — suits applications requiring a more robust attachment. The plastic version suits lighter-duty or cost-sensitive applications where the insert block can be molded directly into the product housing.
Partnership Options
We work with manufacturers and product designers through two primary arrangements.
Direct supply — We provide insert blocks and surface mounts at wholesale. You incorporate the insert block into your product during manufacturing or assembly and sell or include the surface mount with your product. Simple, straightforward, no ongoing royalty structure required.
Licensing — You manufacture or source the insert block incorporated into your product under a licensing agreement. A per-unit royalty applies. This arrangement works well for higher-volume production runs where you want full control over your supply chain.
Both arrangements allow you to market Piranha Lox® locking technology as a named feature of your product — a patented, American-made mechanism.
